Streamflow conditions in the province are generally normal to above normal at this time of year.

Changes over the past 24 hours, unless otherwise indicated.

Bow River at Banff: 58 cms (unchanged from 58 cms)
Bow River at Calgary: 103 cms (unchanged from103 cms)
Bow River below Carseland Dam: 105 cms (unchanged from 105 cms)

- On Thursday July 27, the Bow River at Calgary decreased 60 cms, from 273 cms down to 213 cms.)

- On Friday August 03, the flow rate of the Bow River at Calgary came down to below 200 cms for the first time since early June!

- On Wednesday Aug 15, the flow rate of the Bow River at Calgary came down to below 150 cms for the first time since early June!

- On Monday Aug 20, the flow rate of the Bow River at Calgary came down to around 105 cms for the first time since early June!

Big change coming!

From summery sunshine and temps. in the mid-20’, to wind, rain and temps. around 10C – all in 6 hr.! Env. Can. has issued severe t-storm watches and warnings for Cent. Alta. into this eve, as a strong cold front barrels down from the n.w. Calgary will see showers or t-showers this eve. blustery n. winds and plummeting temps. behind the front, as the showers turn to steady rain. The rain will end around mid-day Fri., but the wind and chill will be with us the rest of the day. After a couple chilly mornings, Sat. and Sun. will see a gradual moderation, with summer temps returning for the beginning of next week.
