This weekend, millions of people in more than 60 countries will
participate in World Rivers Day, a global acknowledgment and celebration
of the world’s waterways.
Mark Angelo, founder of World Rivers Day and a native of British Columbia, sums up the fundamental importance of our rivers as follows: “Rivers are the arteries of our planet; they are lifelines in the truest sense.”
