Over the past 36 hours, the Bow River at Calgary has decreased to below 150 cms for the first time since early June!
The flow rate changes have been erratic, to say the least!
At 6:00 am yesterday (Aug 15), the flow rate was at about 170 cms, a range it had been in since Aug 03.
By 12:00 noon, it had dropped to 101 cms, a decrease of almost 70 cms!!
It bounced around just above that level for a few hours, but by 5:00 pm, it was back down to 100 cms.
Two hours later, by 7:00 pm, it was up to 132 cms. And it has remained in that range over the past 24 hours.

Sun until Sunday
Ten records were shattered in S. Alta. this morning, the coldest being Rocky Mtn. House, Crowsnest Pass, and Waterton Lakes dipping to 0C! Fri. morning will be slightly less cold, so no more frosts are expected. With salubrious sunshine and light winds, temps. will be at least seasonal tomorrow and milder on the weekend. The only fly in our ointment will be the chance of t-showers developing Sun. eve. Enjoy summer – it doesn’t last long in these parts.
