Last Week of Summer

This is the last week of astronomical summer, and the season will end with some dry, sunny, and warm weather. Temperatures will rise into the 20s each day this week, and the warm weather may continue into the beginning of fall. Tuesday will be a bit cooler, as a weak cold front passes through in the early afternoon. Still, though, temperatures will reach the 20s, and begin to climb again Wednesday.

At the upper levels, we're under the inflence of a Rex block. That occurs when high pressure is situated north of Low pressure. The High is in BC/Yukon, and the Low is in the Pacific off California. Rex blocks tend to be strong and long lasting, continuing to deflect any weather systems that try to break through.
