Today along the Bow River - September 2012

At 6:00 am, it was only 2 °C.  However, by the time this photo was taken, it was 13.0 °C. And by 6:00 pm, it had risen to 19.0 °C.

Warm....until the weekend.

Under bright sunshine, temperatures should climb to the mid twenties in Calgary Thursday and Friday. The warm weather won't last into the weekend. Colder air returns Saturday, with some showers Saturday night. Even after the wet weather ends early Sunday, it will remain chilly.

Streamflow conditions in the province are generally normal to above normal at this time of year.

Changes over the past 24 hours, unless otherwise indicated.

Bow River at Banff: fluctuating 31 cms - 33 cms
Bow River at Calgary: fluctuating 63 cms - 71 cms
Bow River below Carseland Dam: 48 cms (decreased from 62 cms)

- On Thursday July 27, the Bow River at Calgary decreased 60 cms, from 273 cms down to 213 cms.)

- On Friday August 03, the flow rate of the Bow River at Calgary came down to below 200 cms for the first time since early June.

- On Wednesday Aug 15, the flow rate of the Bow River at Calgary came down to below 150 cms for the first time since early June.

- On Monday Aug 20, the flow rate of the Bow River at Calgary came down to around 105 cms for the first time since early June.

- On Wednesday Sept 05, the flow rate of the Bow River at Calgary came down to below 100 cms for the first time since mid-May.

- On Monday Sept 10, the flow rate of the Bow River at Calgary came down to below 70 cms for the first time since mid-April.
