High school best friends and now constant touring mates,
Sheila Carabine and Amanda Walther of folk-pop duo Dala have been collaborating
for a decade now after linking up in the band room at Mary Ward Catholic
Secondary School in Scarborough, Ont. By 2005 they were signed to Universal
Music and began climbing upwards, opening for the likes of Tom Cochrane,
Matthew Good and even Stuart McLean of CBC's Vinyl Cafe.
They've earned an impressive number of Canadian Folk
Music and Juno Award nominations (winning the folk award in 2010 for Best Vocal
Group), and their just released fifth album, Best Day, picked up another three
Canadian Folk Music Award nominations.
