McKinnon Flats Closed... What now?

With McKinnon Flats being closed for the next few days, several shuttle clients floated from Policeman's Flats to Legacy Island today. At 38 kms, that's longer than our regular 'day trips'.

However, when you consider that folks float Fish Creek to McKinnon all the time, which is 32 km, the Police to Legacy trip is only an extra 6 kms.

With the 22X/Fish Creek Park boat launch now open, other options for float trips this week include Glenmore to 22X/Fish Creek Park, 22X/Fish Creek Park to Policeman's Flats and Glenmore to Policeman's Flats.

The Highwood confluence is near the bottom of this map. McKinnon Flats is a bit further up. And Legacy Island is at the top.

This map can be purchased from Paddle Alberta Society. It's also available at Mountain Equipment Co-Op. It's called the "Middle Bow River" and covers from the Ghost Dam to Carseland. The cartographer was Clayton Roth, a local Calgarian.
