YASUNI: Marda Loop Justice Film Festival (Calgary) - Nov 14
There are more tree and animal species in a single hectare of Yasuni National Park in Ecuador than there are in Canada, Mexico and the U.S.A. combined.
Unfortunately, underneath that land are billions of dollars of oil reserves. which could help lift the Central American country out of poverty.
The annual Marda Loop Justice Film Festival, which starts Wednesday, Nov. 13, explores this conflict in the Canadian premiere of the doc Yasuni on Thursday, Nov. 14.
