Calgary Women Fly Fishers Club - Inaugural Meeting - A look back

All photos: Bow River Shuttles

The Calgary Women Fly Fishing Club had a wonderful turnout for their inaugural meeting in September.

After a very informative guided tour of the Bow Habitat Station, it was standing room only for the meeting.

Director Leslie Peterson opened the meeting, and we heard from Vice President Gerry Thompson and President Mary Zolmer, who also cut the special cake.

Thanks to club member and photographer Sue Kostyniuk for sending us her two photos of the cake cutting (You can view these at the link just above). It’s always a challenge to make sure everyone in the group is visible and looking at the camera. In our photo (below), Vice Pres Gerry was hidden.

The next club get together will be this coming Thursday Oct 20 where the club meeting will be followed by a guest presentation from Caitlin Gifford of Country Pleasures Fly Shop on fly fishing techniques and gear.
