National Wildlife Week, Pike, Sage Demo Day & Fitness for Anglers

Sat Apr 14 (10:00 am – 4:00 pm): National Wildlife Week

Join Bow Habitat Station April 14th, 2012 as we celebrate National Wildlife Week! This event aims to inspire families to celebrate and learn more about wildlife in Alberta.

In addition to the free outdoor Walk for Wildlife, visitors can also explore the Discovery Centre and Fish Hatchery at a special event price of $5 per person (children 4 and under – free)!








Sat Apr 14 (10:30 am - noon): Fly Fishing for Pike

Covering topics including:
  • equipment setups
  • flies
  • reading bathymetric maps
  • tools of the trade
  • care and handling of big pike
  • casting and retrieving

Bring some pics and your stories.


 

Sat Apr 14 (10 am): Sage "Demo" Day and FREE casting tune-ups

Join Ruben Breitkreutz, Sage regional representative, and CP staff on the river to try out new rods, single, two handed and switch.

Also, we will be holding the Rio Gold Distance Challenge. Test your skills and win Rio prizes!

To get your rod arm warmed up for the upcoming season CP staff will be giving casting tune-up lessons FREE of charge.

Everyone is welcome but please RSVP if you're interested in attending.


 

Sun April 15 (1:00 pm): Fitness for Anglers

Ever feel sore after day of rowing, challenging wading, or heavy nymph session? Shoulders and back a little tight from all the tying you’ve been doing? 

Join us for this session presented by Nicole, a certified yoga instructor and friend of Fish Tales. She’ll give you some stretching techniques to alleviate some of that discomfort.
