Today along the Bow River - October 2012

Another warm short sleeve day, all the way up to 17.0 °C when this photo was taken.  

The Calgary Hook & Hackle Club had more than two dozen members on the Bow today for their annual Ironman competition.  About half drifted the Bow, while the other half did walk and wade trips.

Under var. cloud and a dry w. wind, temps. climbed above 20C in S.E. Alta. this aft. Winds will be stronger tomorrow in the passes and foothills, where Env. Can. has issued a wind warning. Temps. will once again be mild Sun., but a cooling trend will begin Mon. and continue through mid-week. There is the possibility of rain Tue. aft., changing to wet snow at night. Milder air should begin working back into our area later in the week.

Bow River at Calgary: steady 60 - 64 cms
Bow River below Carseland Dam: steady 70 - 74 cms
