Scientists
to monitor fish spawning at Harvie Passage
Electrofishing uses direct current to temporarily stun fish
CBC News, Apr 26, 2013
Scientists were on the Bow River Friday to catch and tag fish as part of an
effort to monitor spawning activities around Harvie Passage.
The area,
downstream from the Calgary Zoo, was redesigned between 2009 and 2012 to make
the passage less dangerous.
Now,
researchers are tagging and monitoring fish to make sure the changes won't
impact their spawning activities in the Bow River.
