Today along the Bow River - July 2014

This is the fourth day in a row with flow rates in the 190 cms range.

Many fly fishing guides were floating from Police to Mac, with a slightly lesser number going from 22X to Mac. Several did an urban float, Glenmore to 22X.

From top to bottom, fly fishers were out along the entire length of the 'Blue Ribbon' Bow River today.

High 18 °C , partly cloudy, wind was an issue, avg 22 max 56 gusts to 74

Today along the Bow River - April 2013

Another 'spring' day on the Bow. Drifters who got an early start encountered weather that was a bit different than those who put on in the afternoon.

Mostly cloudy in the am, we hit our daytime high of 8°C by 2:00 pm.

By 3:00 pm, it had dropped to 2 °C, and we had a 'light snow' storm move through. By 4:00 pm, it was back up to 7°C.

Just after 4:00 pm, we had a rain shower and a bit of hail!

The favourable weather forecast for today, Saturday, enticed three boats to float the Bow River.

'Winter Warriors' were out today at all the favourite spots along the Bow River, from Cushing Bridge to Policemans' Flats and beyond.

NEW! Looking back along the Bow River - Season 2012

Beginning today, and continuing daily, we will post previously unpublished photos from the 2012 fly fishing season.

This new album begins in March 2012. The photos will be in chronological order and will follow the season through to the end of October 2012 (which was 2 days ago!).

This first photo was from March 09 2012. Although there is still snow in the background, the temp that day got up to 15.0 °C and it was mostly cloudy.
