No tricks - just a treat! Fly fishers in a beautiful wooden boat land a Bow River trout this morning!

A favourable Halloween weather forecast brought out the drift boaters. Similar shuttles to Wednesday, except in this case, we bypassed Mac, stopping in at Glenmore, 22X and Police before heading to Legacy Island and Johnson's Island/Carseland.

The weekend? "Snow. Yup." says David Spence, CTV weather.

Spring was oh so close in Calgary today. But, as they say, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

The brief appearance of one of our famous chinooks took the temp up to +10 °C (although that didn't happen until around 6:00 pm). Overcast, with a bit of light rain around 3:00 pm, Wind avg 14, max 43.

However, that was good enough to bring out several Bow River drifters, as well as a number of walk & wade fly fishers.

During one of our shuttle runs, we spotted the fellow in the photo land a nice trout - a rainbow, we think.

March 01, 2013.  A number of spin and fly fishers were out along the Bow River this beautiful Friday morning, enjoying the sunshine and our very mild temperatures.  March came like a lamb. But it will be short lived... just one more day.  The forecast for Sunday is for snow.

We were fortunate to capture this 'catch & release' sequence this afternoon. 
Partly cloudy, high + 16 °C, Wind west 8 km/h. River flow steady at 121 cms, visibility 2-3 ft, even below the Highwood.
