Today along the Bow River - June 2012

During a shuttle run a few days ago, just before the Bow River blew out again, we noticed an eagle feasting on some kind of 'river kill' that was tangled up in the mid-stream 'wood'. A magpie was helping out.

Sunny & Warm

A weak ridge of high pressure will build over southern Alberta Thursday and Friday, giving us a mainly sunny sky, with temperatures near average. Don't expect a big heat wave, but with the sunshine and temperatures in the low 20s, it will be much more comfortable than in recent days.

The Canada Day long weekend won't be a washout, but there will be some showers Saturday and Sunday. We can expect the showers in the afternoon on Saturday, and in the morning on Sunday. When the showers end Sunday, the rest of the day will be cloudy. Sunshine returns for the holiday Monday, and temperatures will climb back to the low 20s.
