Eastern Slopes land-use plan just protects 'rocks and ice,' critics say

Conservationists say it falls short in the valley bottoms and grasslands

The province is touting a draft land-use plan for southern Alberta as a balance between development and conservation, but environmentalists say it really protects only the mountain tops on the Eastern Slopes of the Rockies.
