This will be the last "formal" meeting of the Calgary Women Fly Fishers before the BBQ in June. Our topic for the meeting was fishing techniques: Dry, Nymph, and Streamer, complete with demonstrations, question and answer session and a look into the fly box for the flies to use. Sooooo much more has been added!

After the business part of the evening, Fish & Wildlife will be on hand to give us a presentation regarding bears, cougars, fishing regulations and Report a Poacher.

There was a very good turn out for the BBQ last night.  This event was part of the last club meeting before the summer break.

"Thank you" to everyone who had a hand in putting on this fun social event! It was good to meet the three brand new club members who sat at our table, and to visit with some of the longer term members.

The Calgary Women Fly Fishers Club organized a Drift Boat Presentation earlier this week.

Despite the cool rainy weather, a number of members turned out to take advantage of hearing directly from several fly fishing guides who were on hand with their drift boats.

Thanks to President Mary Zolmer for organizing the event, and for bringing along hot coffee and hot dogs for everyone.

Thanks also for Fish Tales Fly Shop co-owner Nancy Storwick for recruiting the fly fishing guides. And to the guides Doug, Mike and Todd for donating their time and expertise!

The next Calgary Women Fly Fisher Club meeting on Nov 17 (7:00 pm – 9:00 pm) features a guest presentation by Nancy Storwick of Fish Tales Fly Shop on saltwater fishing in Cuba.

Welcome to the Calgary Women Fly Fishers Club, a recently incorporated non-profit club for women of all ages in the Calgary and surrounding area. 

Meetings are the third Thursday of the month, commencing September 15th. from 6:00 - 8:15 PM at the Bow Habitat Station, 1440-17A St. SE (formerly referred to as the Sam Livingston Fish Hatchery building). 

Memberships: 18 and older $50/yr (prorated for 2011 to $30) & Junior members 17 and under $30/yr (prorated for 2011to $15.).
