Legacy Island Meeting (Aug 6) - Follow Up

Brian Meagher opened the meeting with a review the work that has gone into Legacy Island issues over the past year and a half. The 2013 Flood was only the latest chapter in sorting out some of the complexities surrounding the long term lease that was established in 2002.

Brian was awaiting a letter from the AB Govt which is hoped will clarify exactly what can and can't be done regarding the rehab of Legacy. It was supposed to have arrived the day of the meeting. It didn't.

Nonetheless, a four part plan was presented for getting Legacy back on it's feet. The TUC-Bow River Chapter gave the go ahead for the first two phases of this plan.

As one meeting attendee wrote the following morning: "Thanks for presenting and getting us through an informative update. I feel much better informed now and confident of our direction. Hopefully we will receive that letter today !"

We will certainly hear more about this important topic in the very near future.
