The Drake - Winter 2012

Picked up The Drake a few days ago. Here’s what we’ve had time to read so far.

‘Page Six Chix’ (yes, it’s on page 6) included Calgary-based Faceless Fly Fishing’s Timbre Pringle.

‘Living on Easement Street: Are you paying to fish public water?’ by Editor Tom Bie was a good read. Made me thankful that we don’t have ‘private water’ in Alberta. At least, not the kind he describes.

A feature article ‘Short Run: The curse of coastal steelhead’ was summarized as ‘Rules for winter steelheading: Ignore the weather, and keep your mouth shut’. A good read.

The final installment of “The Twelve Apostles” included ‘Scott Head: Bristol Bay’. An interesting profile that included a good update on where we are at in the Pebble Mine fight.

The Drake can be found at your favourite Calgary fly shop.
