EDMONTON - Edmonton is rolling out the “green carpet” for the country
music industry and its fans as the city gets set to host the Canadian
Country Music Association awards for the sixth time in its 31-year
history.
The decidedly country twist on Hollywood’s red-carpet
tradition — “green carpet” symbolizes the land — debuted last year when
the CCMA awards were held in Saskatoon, to the delight of country fans
gathered outside the venue to get a peek at their favourite stars.
