Construction at 22X/Fish Creek Park boat launch delayed

Three days of snow this week pushed back the opening of the 22X boat launch. It's now scheduled to reopen on or before Sept 19.

We stopped by to have a look this past Tuesday, Sept 9 and again yesterday evening Saturday Sept 13.

The first photo, with Alberta Parks staff inspecting the new ramp, is from Sept 9. The other three are from Sept 13.

Fish Creek Park Boat Launch is Now Open

We were advised by Fish Creek Park officials this morning that the boat launch is now open for use.

The repair work has not yet been done as a result of a delay in getting a permit approved. However, the boat launch will remain open until they sort this out.

Notice - Boat Launch Closure - Fish Creek

The boat launch at Fish Creek Provincial Park will be closed to all users starting August 18, 2014 to repair damage from the 2013 flood.

The closure is occurring at this time so the in-stream work can be completed inside the fisheries window.

It will re-open on August 30, 2014 or earlier if construction goes well.

For more information call the park at 403-297-5293.

The gate to the 22X/Fish Creek boat launch was unlocked by a Conservation Office around noon today.

Just a reminder that this launch will be closed again in July or August for 'Phase 2' repairs.

A new concrete slab replaced the heavily damaged right hand side of the double ramp.
