SAFFL writes: "Everyone is welcome to attend this. If your not interested in competing at least come out and watch and based on what you see. You very well might change your mind or not. But at least you will be informed first hand and your opinion will not be anecdotal or skewed by what you think you might know about competition angling. It is only fair to yourself to do so. All are welcome non competitors and competitors alike. Come see for yourself and base your decision on that alone."

'Today along the Bow River' with SAFFL

Actually, this was 'yesterday along the Bow River'. :-) The very first Competition of the recently formed Southern Alberta Fly Fishing League. And those white dots in all the photos are not mayflies... they are snowflakes. The event was organized and overseen by Gary Hanke and his team.

Gary reports: "At the end of the day Jason Doucette took the Gold position with 6 points, John Nishi was Silver with 4 points and Ryan Cook finished with 3 points."

Southern Alberta Fly Fishing League at Back Cast Fly Fishing Film Fest

Southern Alberta Fly Fishing League will be one of several "Friends of Back Cast Fly Fishing Film Festivall" who will be joining us next week on Feb 19 at the Cardel Theatre. 

Come early for the 'Pre Event Social' and meet founder Gary Hanke and his admin team! Doors open at 5:00 pm.
