‘Operation Dry Fly’ supporting Project Healing Waters Canada

We were pleased to present the short film “Operation Dry Fly” at the Canadian Premiere of CONNECT last weekend.

Rick and Thelma Harding produced this film and kindly gave us permission to screen it.

It’s a great introduction to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Canada.

Rick was the Owner operator Streamside Guide Service Ltd. and was a fly fishing outfitter and guide on the Bow River in Alberta and the Elk River in British Columbia for 25 years full and part time. Rick has 46 years fly tying experience and 43 years fly fishing experience and is an FFF certified casting instructor.

Rick Harding's fly fishing and fly tying videos are delivered on the internet at The Fly Fishing Life.com

Rick is presenting a workshop “Two Minute Flies” at the Western Canadian Fly Fishing Expo next weekend. You can register here

In addition to the workshop, Rick is presenting in the Tying Theatre. Admittance to those presentations is included in your admission price.

And last but not least, Rick is the Concert Promoter as well as the Executive Producer of the television series for ‘A Room Full Of Sound’, a music concert series featuring the many fantastic musicians from Southern Albert.

Logging protesters plan Sunday rally

Protestors opposed to logging in the Castle region are planning a rally Sunday from 2 to 4 pm at the entrance to the area, on Highway 774.  Photo courtesy, Gordon Petersen

A large rally is planned by the protesters for Sunday, January 22, starting at 2 pm. "Where it will be will depend on our legal advice," said Peter Sherrington. A decision on a location is expected tomorrow, and the Voice will inform people as the situation develops. Sherrington and Judd emphasized that anyone was welcome to attend, and musicians are invited to bring their instruments. "We're hoping to have a big crowd of people here," said Judd.

Ten & Two, eh? Vol 2 No 2

Here’s how the mag self describes:

“At TEN & TWO we go beneath the surface if you will and look for experiences that thicken the stew and fill us up. We look for interesting people, their stories and the places they inhabit. We search out the perfect drink, and the best meal. We look closely at the ecology of the surrounding habitat. We watch the wildlife, we tour the nearby village, and we seek out the artist’s impressions. And we fish.”

"CONNECT" - A Look Back

Early bird arrivals ‘doors open 6 pm’

We enjoyed a wonderful turnout for the Canadian Premiere of "CONNECT" on Friday Jan 13.

Here is what one film goer had to say:

"That was a great movie last night- photography, music, content.

I liked the story and the connect/disconnect theme.

The best part was showing how all these people loved nature and respected the environment.

No lecturing, no intellectual data, just showing people enjoying the outdoors.

Memorable and affirming."
